Thumbs up Grillcraft

Over the weekend I'll be installing mesh grills on the S. I'm thinking about removing the fake side grills first, and maybe removing the main grill. The new ones are designed to go right over the stock stuff, but I'm not sure what to do.

Who's got thoughts on this?

Do you really think I have that much patience? Besides, my radio install will take enough time on tech day, I don't want to add to that.

the grill is just held in place with tie wraps - it's MUCH easier to install them if the nose is off however it's still pretty easy to tape a long black tie wrap around say a piece of romex wire (sure you got plenty of scrap around the new home ) and fish it around the front fins (for a lack of a better word)

if you don't have a aem CAI no need to cut out the sides - just screw them in with black headed screws - there's nothing gained by cutting out the sides because you'll just be jamming air into the lower shroud

The main mesh has 3 small mounting "plates" on it for it to be screwed into place, and the 2 side grills have "posts" that need to have holes drilled for them. My concern about the side grilles is whether bugs and crap will get caught behind the mesh and make for an unsightly look. Not sure I'd take the time to clear the crap out with a toothpick. And I'm concerned that from a distance, I'll see the stock grill behind the mesh.

Romex? I GOT PLENTY! I would have given some extra to those poor slobs who got themselves electrocuted trying to steal copper in NH. F'n morons!

They must have. The main grill has 3 tabs with holes in them. 1 bottom center and 1 one each side. The sides have a small post on either side. Personally I like the idea of this kind of mounting versus wire ties.

I didn't realize you had these on yours. I'll take your advice and leave them well enough alone. Thanks, buddy!

Seeing as it's easier for the install with the front bumper off, you wanna jack up my car for that?
