Default Hard Dog install day this saturday 3/31

Scott, Derrick and myself will be installing our Hard Dog roll bars this saturday at a buddies shop in Leicester. Not sure if anyone is thinking about buying one, and would like to see how the install goes, or just wants to take a look at the horrifying experience of cutting up an S2000! Address is 81 South Main Street in Leicester, RPM Auto. Be starting at about 8am, and there for a decent amount of time as we have 3 bars to mount!

Looking forward to this install for sure... minus the cutting part. But Jeff down at Evens gave us some good info and we got to see where and what the cut news to be... Still glad Derrick's goes under the knife first

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this weekend. Sorry guys. Good luck with the installs, hope it all goes well.

Thanks John. We got some good pointers from Jeff (I think MiniToyota on the boards) when down at Evans the other month. Talking with Tom at hard dog and reading the directions, the hardest parts seems to be dealing with the interior bits not the actual bar,

Yeah. It's not hard...once you've done it the first time.

I'd suggest everyone work together on the first one before splitting up to tackle the other two. Or just do them one at a time. The last one would (should) go pretty quickly.

Make sure you have some good drill bits and cutting oil. I wound up killing my drill bit... On that point...I've found that I like to mark the holes (they can't be drilled with the bar in place), drill the hole with a smaller bit than the bolt, and then use a dremel to open the hole up to match the mounting plates. Trust me. Do this. Otherwise, you'll wind up with your holes not lined up right and will have to do this anyway - and then you'll wind up with holes that are overly large...

Thanks John.

I got my Dremel all ready packed for tomorrow. We plan to use if for the wheel well cut but will probably be needed for the mounting holes. Good point on the cutting fluid. I will have to throw that in my box for tomorrow!

I think we are going to try and get all three in so we can seal the wheel well opening in one shot... saves us from buying 3 cans of Great Stuff... one can should be plenty to do all three cars...

What I'd suggest, then, is that you do them one at a time and then just seal them all at the same time at the end. No need to have all 3 going at the same time. That's a lot of parts floating around. And...the first time srsly makes the next time easier/faster.

For the Dremel, if you don't have it already, pick up a pack or 3 of the cutting blades (of the quick change kind). You'll need something like 1 1/2 - 2 blades per wheel well (so a total of 4 blades per car, 12 blades total). And take your time with it. I burned up my first dremel on my bar because I was rushing the dremel instead of letting the blade just do it's thing.

I have no clue as to what this Hard Dog roll bar thing is all about, but I believe"Fasting" over in Upstate also installed one. I think he'd posted pics as well. Just in case you want a little more info.

Have fun, guys!
