ok with 2 gps units, 3 cell phones and a bluetooth, PDA's, external disk drives and ipods etc etc etc
I have so many damn little chargers I can't keep track of what plugs into what any more...
my desk is littered with chargers. they're wall warts i tell ya and there spreading....

you'd be surprised on how much electricity those things eat even when they are not charging your stuff
me i use a surge protector with a switch - when i am charging them switch on - and it's off when not in use

Oh man, I feel your pain...
I have learned to go the route of labels; every time I get a new one I immediately slap one on it. I was motivated to do this about a year ago. I had, had being the operative word here, a really nice rechargeable flashlight. I went to use it and it was dead, so I grabbed the charger, plugged it in and ran down stairs with a normal flashlight. About 5 minutes later I came upstairs only to smell this really nasty "hot" smell. Without too much of a delay I realized it was the flashlight, and let me tell ya, that sucker was hot! Charger and flashlight - fried...
