Ok, all installed but it wont go into ir mode 3, only the program led lights up not both led's when i turn on the key and hold the button....any ideas? see bold no 1 below

6. Programming the Steering Wheel Interface with a version number and 'IR' Mode.
The Steering Wheel Interface has to be programmed for version # 3 and set for 'Standard IR' Mode.
1. Press and hold the Program Button on the Steering Wheel Interface while turning on the vehicle to the accessory position. Both LED's will turn on.
2. Release the Program Button and both LED's will turn off and then they will turn on for 3 seconds. Wait for 3 seconds and both LED's will turn off.
3. Press the Program Button 3 times. Each time you press and release the Program Button, both LED's will turn on and off. Once you press the Program Button 3 times, wait for 3 seconds. The right LED will flash 3 times indicating it is programmed for version 3. If it flashes the wrong version number, you will have to start over at step 1 above in this section. Turn the key off.
4. Once you have programmed the correct version number, you will not have to do these steps again. If you need to reprogram the SWC and wireless remote functions, you can go directly to the next section.
Is the program number based on the Car or the unit.....

If it is for the car....It may already be in IR mode 3.

Oh....if the red wire is supposed to be on accessory....then it should only be attached to the red (ACC, switch 12v)wire on the Sony harness, not the yellow as I mentioned incorrectly.

Jeff, i beleive from reading the instructions and this line

"6. Programming the Steering Wheel Interface with a version number and 'IR' Mode." that the mode being spoken of is for the swi unit itself not the car.

Do you have a multimeter?

If so, check that you have power to the acc AND constant wires on the head unit harness. thats the yellow and the red wires.

Check the two fuses in the fuse block that supply power to the head unit. The one labled "radio" and the one labled "accessory" both need to be good.

Ok! It was the ACC fuse...why I did not think of that is beyond me so to Jeff for reminding me of it!

Now here is the good part!

All programmed it works perfect!

A tip when programming after you clear the previous settings turn the key off than back on and start your programming there...this messed me up a few times.

Now all that is left is to mount the IR and stuff it all into the hole and put the radio door back on.

Thanks Guys!
