Default Hey Ben!

Hey Ben!!

I was just reading in Car & Driver that "next year" the Boxster will be getting the same engine as the Cayman. This bumps the hp in the BS to 295. Maybe it's time to order that turbo kit that Scott found?

On a side note, IMO there is even less motivation for a buyer to pay extra to get the Caymen when the Boxster will have the same engine + it's a convertible. Porsche has their head seriously inserted in their a$$ on this one IMO.

is like buying a m3 coupe or convert. they will have customers depending on what they are looking for. although having a higher priced coupe will be a serious damper

The Cayman will have the stiffer chassis. For some, that will make all the difference.

You could probably get some back with a hard top......for much less coin, and the option to og top down later.

What is the price differential? 6,000 for the Cayman?

Funny, BMW got it right....the M coupe is cheaper than the convertable.

Yeah, I learned about that couple weeks ago. That is to be expected as the last Boxster up'ed its HP just about every couple years. Love the Caymen (not as much as my Boxster in warm weather) but it is a total rim job from Porsche to charge 4K more for a car that cost them less to build. Got to give props to their marketing folks to try to pull this one off.

This is the only car that I've ever heard of where the coupe version is more expensive than the convertible. The Cayman is a beautiful car, but I'm not paying a premium for it over the Boxster when you can't even get one with a sunroof.
