Default Hey Erick!

Erick, how's Gilly and his dumpling ear?

Hope you didn't have to mortgage the house to cover the bills.

He's not doing that well. He had surgery on Friday and I took him home that evening. When I took him home, it looked like they had sewn about 12 random pieces of shaved cat ears they had lying around into one and attached it to my cat. Now he's wearing a cone and can't get anywhere in the house without it hitting things and stopping him in his tracks. As a result, he just lies down in a corner and sleeps all day. When he wakes up, he shakes his head so vigorously it's reopening the incision on his ear and he's torn a couple stitches loose causing half his ear to blow back up. So... tonight I get to take him back to the vet so they can take a look at him. I'm considering having them just take the stitches out, let his ear balloon back up again, and then eventually just deflate leaving him with a floppy ear. I'm not sure if that's even possible now given that the main incision hasn't healed much.

On the bright side, the surgery wasn't all that expensive... so far.

The cat is still messed up. The vet drained his ear again and gave him a shot that he claimed would stop his ear from itching as much so he wouldn't shake his head. I don't notice any difference... he seems to be shaking his head just as hard to me and his ear has swelled up again. They told me to watch him and let them know if things get worse. Also, the cat is barely eating or drinking anything. As a result... I barely have to clean the litter box. So, that's a good thing I guess.

Not really a good sign....especially the not drinking. Let the vet know, if you haven't already.

Poor Gilly.
