Couldn't they give him a kitty downer to knock him out so to speak so he doesn't continue to irritate the wound? I've heard horror stories about giving cats pills - I understand it's not as easy as pitching one down a dogs throat - but at least it might give the wound a few days to start to heal before he shakes it open? Poor Gilly!

Pilling cats isntt too bad, guess it depense on the cat! Had Erin look at this thread....kinda more rare in cats for this...more common in dogs. Something like a hemotoma forming inbetween cartiledge layers. The ear can be removed too.

We are both sorry to hear about Gilly's issues. I'm hoping that the party cancellation is just because he is still recovering.
