I'm been running a few different hacked OS from PPCGeeks. Some are good some suck.

I got a new toy I have been playing with VAIO UX Series Micro PC VGN-UX280P

I love new toys.

Jeff I might use this to power my carpc and use the old system to be a media center??? not sure yet.

That thing is so cool. I still think the motherboard solution is the best way since it is easier to factor in a 12v power supply that auto starts and hibernates the PC for you upon key movement.

It is bulky. They say you can put it in your pocket but you will be walking around looking like your happy to see everyone.

It's so much nicer than caring a full size laptop. It's got a Pentium M Core Solo 1.2ghz 512mb ram 40gb hard drive and windows xp. It also has a built in cell card so you can go wwan. I really like it and you can get away with home use because it comes with a docking station.

The thing i was thinking was I can use this in two cars. easy to switch from one car to the other. Another nice thing is when it is in hibernation mode it will be drawing power from it own battery. Don't need to worry about the power draw. We will see. It's just an idea.

When work pays for it it's free but they are about $2000-$2500. They have a new one that has a 32gb solid state hard drive (flash) not mine. I picked mine up a few months ago for about $1700. They don't sell my model anymore. The new ones come with vista and 1gb of ram.

Guess I will have to wait for this to become "older" technology so I can afford one.
