Everytime I get a wheel cleaner bottle, I always mixed it with 50% water. So I get a 2 for the price of one. Works just as well as long as you sponge it off afterwards and not hose it off as advertise, which never worked anyway.

I should try that. Between the 3 cars I clean regularly I go through wheel cleaner faster than anything else.

Yeah, is there REALLY a product out there that you can spray on wheels
and just hose off with no wiping and all the brake dust is gone while at
the same time not hurting the wheels? I've yet to see such a product.

does that remove all brake dust without touching the wheels, Steve?

Right now, I just use the leftover soap from the wash bucket, dump it
in the rinse bucket and use a different microfiber glove and wash them
by hand.

it is the BEST wheel cleaner i've ever used

not too sure why you are against "touching" your wheels while cleaning them but yes this will work -

spray on wait 30 seconds and hose off.

at full strength i would wear a respirator

I use wheel brightener and I still hit it with a soapy sponge to get the wheels perfect. Sometimes I bring it with me to the auto-wash and spray the wheels with it before I drive in. Doing it that way gets it about 90% clean. The problem is that even though the stuff is incredible at removing brake dust, you can't spray every little surface of the wheels easily.

As far as being damaging to the wheels, I don't know. It's an acid... just like what's in every other decent wheel cleaner. You dilute the stuff to whatever you're comfortable with. In practice, the only downside I've seen is it flash rusts your brake rotors instantly. They'll look horrible until you drive the car a block.

I use a wheel brush and the same stuff I washed the car with. That seems to work just fine.

Anyway, how much will those refills cost? Why not just buy your own spray bottles?

I dilute it at 4:1 and it works great. I have no idea what it'd do full strength.
