what kind of class was it? A breathalyzer cert class for current officers? AFAIK there is no class of new troopers coming up right now. In my academy, we had the option of bringing in a friend to get drunk. It was pretty funny. I bet you had a good time!

Did they test you at various stages where you might have felt you were "OK to drive" only to find out you were legally drunk?
Lainey, they tested us every 3 drinks or so. When I was at .06 I was feeling a nice buzz.

It was a current academy of new officers. There were about 30 or so guys/gals. It was a great time

Mike, at least now you have a good idea of what you can drink and still drive legally. For you I would guess less than 3 beers in an hour more to the side of 2.

And I'd bet it's not as much as most folks think...you get beyond three beers/drinks in a short time frame and chances are you'd be legally drunk.

For me, it would take less than one beer.

Which brings this up. For a lightweight drinker like me, one drink gives me a buzz, but yet I'd likely not be legally drunk, but I'd have NO business driving....where do I fit in? Did they test any lightweight drinkers?

We had 250 lb guys and 110 lbs ladies. The drink # was less important a factor than you'd think.

The smallest girl drank 6 and the biggest guy drank 9. The BAC range was like .07 to .15 IIRC
