Default i need a new string trimmer

what do you reccomend

i've been using an old ryobi but the thing sucks now - bought it for $40.00 off CL a few years back and now that i do a few lawns (mine, mom's and a paid job) a week i hate the thing as it will just die on me and it's a PIA to start

was thinking about the Echo's at HD - $250.00 with a 5 year warranty and no more curved shaft

what do you guys use?

I bought a honda brush cutter/ string trimmer.
it takes a 10" saw blade for handling brush.
runs great but the trimmer doesn't have a bump head.
it's a pain to have to stop and feed out more line.

Steve for that $ check out Norfolk Power Tools and see what they have - you might be able to pick up something a bit nicer than you would at HD or Lowes.

Friend of mine in Canada with lots of land to trim has one a Stihl Pro model. Thing is unreal two lines and uses the heavy line, he did a lot of trimming while I was just up there and the line just does not break and the motor goes stong with more than enough power all day long. It balances nicely with the shoulder strap and has two handles for comfort on the arms and shoulders.

Check them out, if I needed one I would certianly buy one of them in a beat!

I can't remeber the model, but a few years back I bought a big Ryobi with removeable attachments. I think it came with a string trimmer and a brush cutter. I also bought an edger for it. the different heads click into the power head. Thing has tons of power and has worked great for about six years now.
