Default I'm toasted

Came home to a house with NO HEAT and a driveway packed with snow.

Took it out on the manhattan's and now I'm smashed. Good thing I don't have to work tomorrow, pops can drive me up to VT and by the time the sleds are out I should be sober enough.

Booooo, crappy afternoon.

It helped keep me warm and minimized the pain as I worked my driveway last night.

We got about 2inches of snow then another 1inch or so of sleet. I worked from home. Good thing I did, all my peers took hours to get home last night.

I actually lost heat in one of my zones a few years ago. It was because the guy who had put up my new siding removed some insulation on the north side of my house near where all my utilities come in. This created a very cold draft that was right on my baseboard on a corner. When the heat turned down for the night, it stayed off long enough for the pipe to freeze. It cost me $400 to get a plumber to come out on a Sunday morning to find where the pipe was frozen, he then borrowed one of our hair dryers and heated the area.
Needless to say, I went out to Home Depot and bought some of that spray foam insulation and just sprayed it in. I have not had a problem since.

Alcohol constricts the capilaries and makes you feel cold.

gotta argue with you on this one snakes.

alcohol actually dilates blood vessels. this gets more blood to the surface and gives you a flushed warm feeling for while.
the problem is you're over riding your bodies natural mechanism to restrict blood flow to the extremities to maintain core temperature. once this happens you will be very cold.
Hypothermia becomes a real risk when you throw in alcohol.
