Default Konis on stock suspension?

Hi everyone. I'm embarrassed that I haven't posted anything the last couple of years, but I've got a question to ask. I'm wondering if anyone here has Konis installed on stock springs? What can one expect for changes to ride/handling? My stock shocks still feel okay, but I'd like to be able to soften the damping for long trips and then tighten it back for the twisties. It would be pointless if the Konis are stiffer on "full soft" than the stock shocks.

TIA,
Dana

Koni Yellows as they come from Koni will work well. You won't notice too much increase in performance compared to stock, but you would be able to soften them.

I do not have them and never have. My comments come from folks who tried them in autocross. Everyone seemed to have the same opinion. While they were a bit stiffer on full stiff, they were not stiff enough for the hard core guys. Some claimed they were really no better than stock for autocross purposes.

Thanks for the info, Bill. I think the 2000 model has the stiffest shocks of the AP1s, and I think I'm getting old.
