Default Lobster Tail

Yo, NE homeys;
The LW (little woman) acquired a couple of lobster tails tonight from Costco. They are big sumbitches!
What is the best way to prepare lobster tails?
I have a splendid grill out back. Should / could I grill 'em?

I figure you New England drivers would know how to do lobster.

Standing by...
Thanks,
CB

You need to pronounce it LOBSTAH here.

Personally, I dont eat the stuff. I'm sure someone has some excellent ideas.

Never been the New England way. Have always wanted to go to the area and sample some local seafood dishes.

Lobstah? Shouldn't be too difficult. I'll try one with the shell split and the lobstah meat pulled to the top like I've seen in restaurants.

I haven't chowed on lobstah in over 20 years!

Yep grilling them with light olive oil and butta should do the trick. Don't have to grill them for long. Maybe 5 or so minutes on each side.

Unhappy

^
I took the first tail and split it all the way through with a knife to have two halves. I used a bit of buttah and olive oil and grilled the two halves meat down. It was good, but I think I over-cooked because the meat was a bit tougher than I would have liked.
Any temps and times?
And, how about dippin' buttah?
It was a bit salty, but good. I had a bowl of lemon juice and a bowl of melted buttah for dippin'. Still seemed a bit salty.

I have one more large tail to do tomorrow. What I'm doin' now is taking that tail and surrounding it with clear ice cubes in the hope that it might draw out some of the saltiness before I grills it tomorrow.

What I'm after is to have good lobster grilled for my next party. I'm thinking that I'll do lobstah and cut it up into chunks after it is grilled so that my peeps can select lobstah and pieces of filet mignon ... along with other chunkable items like vegetables and such. My intention is to have a bit of a few things that go well together for great food for a gathering.

Word?

i would say 2 minutes on each side - as seafood cooks very quickly on a hot grill

or you could always drop them in boiling water and pull them out when the tails are a white/pink color again 3-4 minutes at most

word = saturation!!

Also you could always season the tails with some old bay seasoning and melted butta before you grill them

mans!
We got some bad lobstah!
I think the lobstah was thawed at the store and by the time we got it on the grill it was stinky dead!
Lobster in AZ? Bad!
The next lobstah we get will be smaller and FROZEN.
So, I'm still interested in grilling procedures.
I'll try again later, but for now... yuk!
