Mark and Ellen,
I meant no offense by posting what I *think* your motivations were. To me, the way I have interpereted things, it seems to be the reason. I went way out of my way to acknowledge that it is just my opinion and that I agree I may be wrong.
It is not a personal attack or meant to piss anyone off. I did mean it to obviously say what was on my mind and because I think this entire thing of replacing Bill is a farce and ridiculous. I think the hounding Bill and Cub have taken from people complaining about silly stuff is BS, I think that the people who were mostly giving the CO's grief were not exactly disappointed that Bill was considering leaving the job and weren't exactly kicking and screaming that their name was on the vote list to replace him.
I have known Bill through this board for almost six years now. IMO, he has done as much or more than most people will ever do for this club. To treat him the way he has been treated for doing the CO job is a shame. He has taken slack for making tough decisions in the past and most recently began taking crap for not being online every minute of the day to answer certain folk's beck and call. BS!! We are talking about a guy who took the CO job to try and make the forum a better place for all of us. This is a guy who was up at 2am one morning while away from home on a business trip updating our roster. Again, to haunt him, or make him feel pressure for not being online 24/7 is total BS and I think it was done for personal gain.
Whether or not that gain was motivated by a desire to be the big bad official CO of New England, I do not know. But I think it is.
Everyone is entitled to a reason for wanting to take a position like that. Considering that Bill has a track record of going above and beyond for this club for six years and only recently took the title of CO and since taking the title has done a great job, one can only deduct that the motivation for wanting the CO title is either out of spite of Bill or because of some desire to be "recognized" and have a title. If this is not the case and those interested in taking Bill's place are just doing it out of the love of the honda motor corporation and a desire to better the NE forum in general or some other BS, then please explain what Bill has done wrong and/or should have done better.
If you weren't interested in the job, why not say so like other members did? If you were interested, I personally think it is shady that you gave Bill a hard time and then want to jump in his shoes immediately after he cries uncle.
Again, Mark and Ellen, please don't take this as personal. The two of you decided to run for an elected position in this forum, either directly or indirectly by accepting a nomination or not renouncing it. That puts your motivations and plans for the forum/club in the cross hairs for discussion and examination. Would you vote for a political candidate w/o knowing what they stand for? I would argue that the CO of NE has more direct effect on my life than some joker on Beacon hill because I come to this site all the time.

but jeff NO ONE decided to "run" as bill nominated people with no rhyme or reason - maybe my busting his chops about the thank you stuff was the last straw BUT again no one posted up to say pick me pick me. a little overly dramatic for Bill yup sure and highly unlike bill - sure BUT no one was calling for his removal -

I LOVED the penguin!!!!
Steve, like I said in my last paragraph, you don;t have tio come out and say
I am running for CO
By not saying anything to deny it while the voting is in progress is a deafening acceptance of the candidacy.
are you going to make the argument that if either Ellen or Mark had been appointed they would turn it down? If not than they were running. If you are for Bill being CO and don't want to replace him, the right thing to do is say "I am not running and I support Bill".
That was never said.

I acknowledge that my roots here are not as deep as some of yours so some on the intricacies you all know and take for granted sometimes leaves people in my position to
I would like to take a moment and let you guys know that there are a lot of people in this forum and a great deal of us want to be a part of it but sometimes we and/or I feel hindered by the past histories between the old guard.
