count your calories... create an account on this site to get a suggestion on how much you should be eating and make a food log.

I know many people who swear by Weight Watchers, including a friend who's lost 105lbs so far.

Good for you for wanting to try something. It's a health risk to carry too much weight around, and it'll only get worse as you get older.

Good luck!!

NOTE TO LAINEY: No cookies for s2k11 at the Holiday Party.

Yeah I know, I know, I find a reason to turn any thread into something about cookies.

Eat less, move more. That's the only way the weight will come off and stay off. Watch calories AND fat intake and not too much Alcohol is just empty calories.

And Bruce is right, better now than later, it gets harder to lose once you are

Burn more calories than you eat. exercise. and drink lots of water. I was 215 a few months ago now I'm 195. I also run about 5-10 miles 5 times a week. I want to get down to 190 and I'll be happy.

For a laugh when i ran cross country in HS i was 6'2" and weighed 145lbs I was sickly looking

Aside from eating less non-healthy food, eat only 3/4 before you are full. Don't feel you are obliged to finish the plate. When you are hungry again an hour or 2 later, eat fruits like apple, orange, grape, etc. to hold you over 'til next meal.

If you really determined about it, start running like Kev. Biking works too if you concern about excessive wear on your joints from running.
