Fix a flat spray should be your absolute last resort as it ruins your tire and gunks up your wheel.

Plug kit is a good backup. I just don't like the idea of doing the plugging on the side of the road esp when it is dark and/or cold.

The best way is have it towed (or limp w/ the help of a compressor) to a local shop and have them fix it. While I agree w/ Cubby and others plugging is perfectly fine as long as the puncture is not close to the sidewall, I'd recommend patching (unmount tire, patch from within, remount tire, balance) it at a slightly higher cost for peace of mind, esp if it's a newer tire and you drive the car hard. A local place I trust changes $30 for patching vs $15 for plugging.

if i remember correctly if you get a flat rear tire you have to switch the front wheel to the rear and put the spare on the front. sounds like alot of work.

But as always things car related its whatever the owner of the car wants to do. If you choose to plug only thats your choice if your happy with it its your choice.

Dont wanna make this a pissing match as mentioned above in my other post but than again this is the NE forum
And yet you continue to provide us with your .02. You already stated your case with info from the NHSTA in your first post. Some folks obviously disagree. Do you need the last word?

If you didn't want a pissing content, you could have ended your post with this:

Now, back on topic. Should Josh remove his spare? I say no, not having a spare could turn out to be a royal PIA. Josh, were you not glad to have your spare when you had the mishap on the Mohawk run?

Keep the spare.

Attention people of New England:

Please stop quoting Zzzzippppyyyy. When you quote him, I can see what he wrote and that is bad for me.
