Losing the Spare
So I've been thinking of taking my spare out to save a little weight. I'm wondering what is the best options? Patch kit, slime, fix a flat spray? Looking for opinions. I already have AAA and a cell.

We have driven many miles and taken many road trips without a spare tire. We had the goop, the compressor, a plug kit.
This spring we hit a pot hole with the WRX. Tire went flat, and no goop, no plug kit, no compressor would have fixed it. The tire was ruined. We were glad we had a spare.
The spare went back into the S before our Canadian road trip and it's there to stay. Though traveling with a trunk full of stuff, and a passenger could present a challenge as to what to do with the flat tire/wheel, at least the car could be driven, even if all my shoes had to remain behind on the side of the road.
Josh, why are you concerned about the weight of the spare? Are you taking the car to Auto X?

My leg has been doing better, but still not 100% and I'm hoping that I can do some auto x in the spring. I'm also not able to drive my car as much with my daughter being so young. I figure this way I won't have hassle of removing a spare. Plus these items would be good and cheep for the holidays for gifts.

^ I think a plug kit is a plug kit as long as it plugs the hole. Of course extended driving on a plugged tire is never recommended YMMV.
