I see zippy-dave deleted his foolish post that was above my declaration of death. That's a start anyway.

Cubby, my post was not originally directed at you. Dave had made another one of his multi Z posts last night, and I was responding to that. By deleting his post, he makes it appear that I am responding to you, which was not the case.

GREAT GAME last night! Or at least a great finish!

I was there and it was louder than I have ever heard it in that
stadium in the past and I've been to two AFC championship games
there among other games. A couple of friends told me it was super
loud on tv as well. I am still hoarse from screaming
louder and longer than I ever have at a Patriots game. My player
of the game? Gostowski for diving into that pile to get the ball!

That 2nd roughing the passer call, the one in the 4th quarter was
roughing. You cannot throw a QB to the ground like that, I had
a good view of it through my binoculars, he could have sacked him
without that extra slam.

The defense really stepped up on the last drive, other than that one
20-yard pass on the first play where the D was in a prevent. All
that prevents is you winning the game. 2 sacks on the last drive, HUGE!

It was insane at the end of the game and walking back to the car,
people were walking the entire length of the coucourse high fiving
each other...awesome time, despite not getting home until 2:15 a.m.

Not the most pretty game you'll ever see but good teams (the Patriots) find
a way to pull those out and bad teams (Buffalo) find ways to give them away.

NE has a lot of work to do but that has to give them some momentum!

No matter what they called it, it will be a 15 yarder every time when
that kind of tackle is made on a QB.

not necessarily, the call wasn't unnecessary roughness, it was roughing the passer.

I think the NFL should just go ahead and make it illegal to tackle a QB, seriously WTF.

I don't agree. I like to see someone take even me down from a standing position without having to pivot off his own body and use a throwing/swinging motion. I don't think it is legal to hop on the QB's back and collapse him w/ body weight either. You can't take you wrapped arms off the QB's or he would be able to throw the ball away. You can't keep pushing to drive him to the ground. So what else can you do?

I think the flag was thrown because it happened after the whistle (despite whatever the call was), which is BS as well. It was like a split second after the whistle and the take-down momentum had already begun.
