If memory serves, the bolt holding the visor on is a Torx...should be a six-sides star pattern, kind of like a hex wrench, but instad of 6 flat edges, they bow into the hole.

WHOA..... WAIT A MIN...

Jean... do not buy any tools! I don't need any TORX tool.

Getting the phone cord up to the center of the windshield is not a problem... how you want to power the V1 is... but a very small one.

Jean... do you want your V1 hard-wired to your car? Or do you want to plug it into the Cig. Lighter?

If you would like the V1 hardwired to your car... I would recommend purchasing this....

I have the T-adaptor that comes with it, but that's not what you want. I picked ip a 10' phone cord (OK, I already had on in my junk drawer), cut one end off, and had four wires staring back at me. Two you can cut back to nubs, and keep the other two (I think the red and green wire...standard for the first line of phones...are the ones that connect to the V1). One wire gets a large ring crimp to connect to the ground next to the driver-side fuse box (above your leg) and the other gets a female spade connector for connecting to the fuse box itself (the ignition-on space).

That's it to the hardwiring...the V1 can be removed at will (I still take mine out of the car at night), and if you ever sell the car you pull one wire out...simple as that.

Glenn,Dan what in gods name are you guys talking about your going to confuse poor jean all the stuff that you need is right in with the the V1 kit when you buy it. All you have to do is find an ignition wire (witch I did) and ground the other wire to that mass of grounds by your leg. Dan why do you need to have a 10foot cable again ..........

Now that I think about it, the flat cable that came with the V1 was plenty long enough, so no need to buy another one. The ignition wire you mention can be found in the fuse box above your left leg, and a female spade connector will allow you to remove the wire if you ever decide to remove the V1. And yes, that mass of grounds you mention is also the one I'm talking about...but you should connect into it with a ring connector, not just a wire wrapped around the nut. So, no, everything does NOT come with the V1 if you want to do it right, and as we all know, I'm always right

Hi Glenn,
I'm sorry I took so long getting back to you, but my V-1 kit did come with a direct wire power adapter, so I will just bring the box with all the stuff to FC. Unfortunately, my car now has a boo-boo on it , so you guys can look at it and see how much it's going to cost me to get it fixed. Don't ask, it's a long story and I don't want to short circuit the computer by crying on it. It figures, just before a car show too.... Just pictures of the left side of the car please!!!

Ouch we feel the pain with you Jean. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Hopefully it will be fixed as good as new soon. Have fun at Fall Colors.
