Since I can't afford to buy gas I took Steve's advice from over the winter and detailed my engine bay yesterday.

There are some really effing hard places to try and reach! I was looking around to see if I could steal a child with small hands I think I am going to have to lay on the ground to get into some of the spots.

I did splurge and burn up one gallon going to the bank. It only cost me $1 more than driving the Civic which I decided I could afford

I hear ya, I was happy as hell when I read the instructions on the heat paint and it said the 1st time the item is heated up, it needs to stay hot for 2+ hours. I love it when I'm told I have to go for a long drive.

Yup you should! I had all mine done a couple weeks ago. You will definitely be putting on at least 1,200 miles.

It's 480 one way for me and the MA people are another 150 miles further east. Holy cow, I just figured cost of gas for that many gallons/miles

I'm going to eat bread and drink water at SF so I can afford gas

I suggest drinking beer until you forget about the gas prices.

At this rate I won't be able to afford beer either

I'm going to stock on cheap stuff this week and bring a 12 pack with me!

Good thing I don't have to choose between laundry and car washing anymore

Where are you picking that up? (I have no idea what it is but I can only guess it's beer ) Probably fit more taken out of the boxes but then you run a greater risk of breakage
