NH strip
One of my friends has just finished creating a software program to measure 0-60, 1/4 mi, lateral g's etc. on his iphone (a la portable dyno, sort of). He's looking for volunteers to test it on. All data will be available on his website. All you need to do is show up at NH drag strip on July 2nd. Times and more specific details will come soon. Right now I'm just looking for people who are interested.
I plan on making the drive, but will only be a passenger due to my leg.

Do most PocketPC systems have accelerometer? I think that's the key here as the iPhone and Touch have an multi-axis accelerometer built in, and from what I can tell they're fairly sensitive and accurate. However I wonder if he would additionally need GPS/location info which would only be on the iPhone
Additionaly, from what I hear, apple's development platform makes it very easy to author and app. When I get an x86 based MacBook (likely next year) I'm planning on downloading their toolkit to see if i can author something myself. Not sure what yet.

This is cool ,
Kenta my OBD scan software has a dyno built in and will give a full plot just like the dyno . it uses the cars computer to figure out time over distance vs RPM . You also have to figure in you coefficient of drag so you get actually HP to the wheels with drag
I think the Gtech and Bell are the only ones that do lateral G's other than full race data-loggers.
But I believe alot of the OBD gauges now offer 1/4 , 0-60 and other readings other than just all your sensor outputs , MSD , Greddy , PLX , etc
Iphone would be handy as it is more portable . I have a Palm and the software I use on my make is available for it so I am just going that route so I can have my OBD scan tool with me at all times
