Default Nice start to a Monday

Down an hour sleep, two because my alarm clock automatically adjusts for daylight savings and I adjusted it Saturday, wife is something less then happy because of the lack of sleep. Behind a brake rider all the way to work... can you see the frustration building ... Going to be a GREAT Monday...

Check my email... what is this... Can't be? SWWEEEEETTTT!

I got notification that I made it into the championship round in the karting event the BMW club I auto-x in holds during the winter. I raced back in January and felt a bit shafted after the final race... I came in 6th after starting at the back of the pack, only the top 5 move on... I felt somewhat shafted because there was a red flag condition and I was up to 7th when it happened, they got us rolling again two carts passed me. They were adjusting the rest of the field but they only did the top 5, well now I am back in 9th position and they start the race... battled back to 6th, another 2 or 3 laps I should have had 5th too I was gaining on him pretty fast.

Getting into the Championship made my Monday for sure

Championship race is April 3rd at F1 Boston and it is the linked track, city and country course together. Going to be tons of fun! Almost 2hrs of racing!

Congrats! Good luck!

I drove those carts once. They are fun...I could hardly move my arms the next day. They are more challenging than one would think.

Yup they certainly are a workout! I fully expect the same outcome, arms I can barely lift for a day or two

I went to F1 Boston once and was kinda disappointed, we usually go to ontrack in Wallingford, also Maine indoor karting has all you can race all day on Saturdays, for $100 did that twice and that was a TON of fun

Awesome news though!! Good luck

I can see F1 being not friendly based on cost vs time. I think the key is having a group function. During the run-offs I paid 75bux and got over 60 laps (as I kept qualifying for the next round), but in general you got a minimum of 36laps. This time around it is a touch more then double, but we will be running on both tracks at the same time (linked) and only 18racers vs 50, and two qualifying heats at 20laps and I think the main event is suppose to be almost 40 laps! Should be a good time.

I will have to check out the place in Maine (where abouts?) We did karting for a bachelor party a number of years ago which was all you could drive for $XXX out in Foxboro... We all had a ton of fun, we where there when the doors opened until they kicked us out, and most would like to do another "all day" event again.

It is on the list and maybe later this year, I would love to get out on the track. But I am 6'2" and I think I need more then a rollbar (seat also) to pass inspection.
