Does anybody know how to straighten a warped board out. It's a piece of Teak that is a front door and really isn't easily replaed or replicated. It's warped a bit and would like to straighten out.
SUGGESTIONS?
Thoughs are to submerge in water for ~24 hours and then clamp onto a flat surface and let dry. Or possibly mark the warped sides and put small shims under to try and flex the board the other way!
Thanks,
Jim

Jim,
What you really need is a steamer... do you have anything large enough for the piece? If not, consider making one with some large-ass PVC piping. Steam the sucker for a couple of hours, then place it into a clamp to cool down. You may have to back-bend it a few degrees to completely remove the warp. Experimentation and multiple tries will probably be necessary, unless you get lucky on the first shot.
Teak is an open-grain wood, so you'll more than likely see the grain rise after steaming... planing and/or sandpaper will be required. Don't forget to re-oil afterwards...

Maybe I will take it into the shower with me.
I dunno.........I will have to experiment soon.
YES this is the Bar. I have the tools to clamp it down so I have a feeling I will stick it maybe in the oven in a pan of water and cover...........let it roast for a while in there and then get that sucker under a clamp.
