Default Is it possible?

To put a 2jzgte motor into a 3000gt VR4? Ive been looking and cant find anything on it or if anyone has done the swap before. Just looking into it right now as the finances arent going to allow it but i think it would be really cool.

Yeah, they stuffed Ford 302's into Miata's "Monster Miatas" and Vette motors in "Mallet" Solstice's so something as big as a 3000GT or Dodge Stealth is probably less difficult.

I remember growing up and I wanted to stuff a motor from an 94 Taurus SHO into my 93 Probe GT. I found out that all the effort and $$$ that would be needed could go towards buying a car that off the shelf would be just as capable (Almost bought a 98 RX-7).

I wonder what the estimate on that cost would be and if its worth it. Well i personally think it would be worth it.

I have no idea what the VR4 would cost and then add in the swap and labor but I'll throw some numbers out there for you.

My best friend and future brother-in-law just sold his 95 TT MKIV that was BPU+ for $29k. Granted the car also had a $3k stereo and $3k wheels, so those removed might save a couple g's off the price.

That car ran low 11s all day, looked sexy as hell, and was hilariously reliable for being a 450+ rwhp car.

So see what those numbers are against a VR4 + engine + labor. You're guess is probably better than mine.

The 3000GT/Stealth has a transversly mounted engine.

A VR4 that is in good condition still commands good $$$ to this day. Especially one that hasn't been beaten to oblivion...

I can see the draw one would have to those cars, both the VR4 and Dodge Stealth R/T. 4WS, AWD, tunable exhaust, 300hp (which was A LOT back in 1996) They were pretty cool cars that got priced out of the market unfortunately (42k loaded) and overshadowed by the much more popular Supra, 300Z and even Mitsu's own Eclipse AWD-T...

You can find 222hp FWD models around, but VR-4's are rare...

Would be cool, but driving it, not many people would know what you've got under the hood anyways.
