What's up guys? Just curious I may be moving to New Haven, CT and I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on the area? I need to know good places to live, areas to avoid, and things of that nature. Thanks in advance.

When my wife worked at Yale, she came out of work and couldn't start the car. I get the call "honey, I can't start the car." I drive 45 miles only to find the battery was stolen - broad daylight! I'd move to one of the surrounding towns.

Nice place to live in CT = NOT in New Haven. The further East you go the BETTER!

I don't suggest moving to New Haven. Are you going to be there for work or school?? You can live on the outskirts and take a bus sure, best bet is to get yourself a 1000 dollar beater subaru. They do absolutely fantastic in out winters. Loved both of the ones I've had.

Orange is right next door, its a pretty nice quiet town. Derby, Shelton and Ansonia are boonie towns, nice and quiet and not too far from the Haven either.

Woodbridge and Orange are two nice towns. They are extremely close to New Haven and tons of shopping on the Post Road in Orange/Milford.
