I finally got to run the media server on my playstation 3 one in my room and the other in the living room and it awesome. Its better then uploading to your media card or memory card just so you could watch HD movies on your ps3 without the hassle of running cable from your pc to your tv. Gotta say the movies streaming quality are great and no lagging what so ever especially now you have access to everything that is on the pc. The best part all the connection is running wireless through your wireless router Getting Blu-ray movies from online and link it to your media player doesn't get any better then this.

Xbox360 has always done this I can even do it from my MAC

 

Too bad for xbox360 it doesnt play Blu-Ray disc that the downside..lol

 

blu-ray will be like the black sheep of moives in a few years, it never took off due to the cost of most players. and the excess cost of the discs. and even if you buy all that most ppl wouldn't notice the difference between the hd on the 360 and the blu-ray on there tv unless they have a very high end tv imo or i am just half blind and couldn't notice the difference.

 

i personally think the difference in quality is there, but to me, it didn't matter that much. sucks that HD-DVD movies were killed

Blue-ray players are $100


That's like saying a point and shoot cammera is better than a SLR because it can take movies. Wait till Project Natal is release for Christmas this year .

 

For a while Xbox 360 sucked because it wouldn't play a lot of formats if I remember correctly. Before the last redesign with the new interface I couldn't get some mpegs or xvids to play. Now its pretty much comparable to the PS3 for media server stuff. My biggest gripe is that the Xbox still wont read ID3 tags on the MP3's. Neither of them has a full featured MP3 player which would be nice.
