Thanks! It should be much brighter and lighter in there now.

I would bet, by the time we get the painter in there, and the electrician to install the fixtures, the entire project will be a 6-8 week affair.

We are on week 3 right now.

That's not too bad at all! Just think you're halfway there and even though there will still be painting and electrical work at least the big messy stuff will be done and over with!

 

Post some pics. I was very close to putting hardwood in there. We have it in the rest of the house. I can always re-do right???

 

I like the sliding shelf. Now you need some chrome to pimp it out!!!!

Looks great. I put a wood floor (oak) in my kitchen about 8 years ago. It's OK but it has quite a few nicks and dents from dropping stuff. I suppose I could sand them out if I really got motivated.
Bottom line = I think the tile was a nice move.

 

Nah stay with the tile. I am big on tile in Kitchen and baths. Rest of the house can be wood. Plus tile can take more abuse from kitchen duty than the wood.

 

That's kind of the way we were thinking too.

Plus with wood, I might want a small rug to "dress it up". Then you got a darn carpet in the kitchen/dining area......no need.

 

Looking nice so far. I like the tile in the kitchen too. I'm sure you and Rick can hardly wait to use it.
