I would bet, by the time we get the painter in there, and the electrician to install the fixtures, the entire project will be a 6-8 week affair.
We are on week 3 right now.

Looks great. I put a wood floor (oak) in my kitchen about 8 years ago. It's OK but it has quite a few nicks and dents from dropping stuff. I suppose I could sand them out if I really got motivated.
Bottom line = I think the tile was a nice move.

Nah stay with the tile. I am big on tile in Kitchen and baths. Rest of the house can be wood. Plus tile can take more abuse from kitchen duty than the wood.
Plus with wood, I might want a small rug to "dress it up". Then you got a darn carpet in the kitchen/dining area......no need.
