It's a laminate with a beveled edge and clipped corners. Solid surface is generally 3X as much as laminate, so we "saved" a few dollars and went with the laminate.

Yeah, I gotta check our savings account balance and see if that money is still in there.

Wow Lainey it looks terrific!! I love everything especially the tiles on the backsplash. That counter really does look like a solid surface - the beveled edges really make it. You must be glad it's coming to an end! There's nothing like the feeling of a newly redone room - but you only get that feeling once everyone has packed up all their crap and left your house for good! Enjoy!

We have a countertop!

Care to explain why there's a bottle of vaseline on top of your new kitchen counter?

Then again, it could just be your contractors taking the care to lube you guys up before presenting you w/ the bill.

How observant.

The contractor used that to coat the edge of something so that excess glue or something would be easier to remove.

At least that's what he told us.

He hasn't presented us with the final bill. I've been keeping him supplied with M & M's and Diet Coke. Not sure how much of a credit I get for that.

Thanks! The colors everywhere are quite neutral.

It's a good thing I like the way it's come out as I don't think I could talk Rick into a second renovation.
