s2000 mechanic
Just to through my nickel into the basket - goto Billman.
I was getting a check engine light and after 3 trips to my local mechanic, I told the local mechanic to adjust the valves.
When I got it back, the light was off, but it just didn't feel right any more.
I had a trip scheduled to Watkins Glen, so I took it into Billman.
1) My local guy had "adjusted the valves" to 3x the factory recommended spec (over 20mil on each)
2) He hadn't torqued the spark plugs properly
3) He screwed each of the spark plug seals for the well for plug 4 was full to the top with oil.
I`m convinced I would have blown the engine if Billman hadn't looked at it.
While I was there - he adjusted the clutch, torqued my axle bolts, checked the fluids, etc.
At this point, I`ll make the trip from MA to LI for anything beyond routine maintenance.
