Sometimes I receive the list of "High Theft Vehicles" when I get my insurance renewal and every car you can think of is on there. I wonder what joker came up with that list.

Personally, I think the high-risk thing is bull-malarky. I've seen the list that Metropolitan (my insurer) sends me, and I'm hard pressed to find a car that isn't on it. Ridiculous.

You know you'll never go poor working in insurance.

Well, I just pulled out the paperwork and yes, the S2000 (all years), is listed on the high theft list. I agree with you guys; that's BS as far as Massachusetts is concerned.

Here's a comparison of my rates comparing July 2002 to July 2004. Note that I have a bunch of discounts for multi-car and business, and I'm an old fart:

'02 / '04
------
bodily injury (20K, 40K): $176 / $212
personal injury 8K: $58 / $70
damage to property 100K: $212 / $279
optional bodily injury (20K, 40K): $24 / $21
Collision (500): $588 / $603
Comprenhensive: (500): $109 / $118
subst. transport: $16 / $12
towing: $7 / $7

So, I'm getting boned on damage to someone else's property ($67 more). Collision is up 21 bucks, but not outrageous. The good news is that 2 of the step points that one of the step points that was killing me has come off since '02, which (from 14 -> 13) saves me almost $100!
