Default S2000 soft top problem?

ok, so I have my new S2000 and like many of you I've gone over it with a magnifine glass while cleaning it. My question is, I've had the top down about 4 times now and realized that there are two small wear spots on the inside of the soft top. One on each side about the size of a dime. Is this normal? Not holes, but it looks as if one of the metal rids from the top might be rubbing on the soft top material. Should I be concerned/ is this normal? Any insights would be a great help. Thanks

I haven't noticed any wear holes, but I can check next time I'm in the S (tonight).

Do a search on the S2000 talk forum - there was a long thread about where one tends to wear and/or holes in the top and how to prevent them.

Yeah I would put some type of adhesive tape or soft velcro on that. You will get holes sooner than later. Lets us know what comes about this. Take some pics it will help us. Mines a garage queen so I might not have to worry about this yet.

Post a pic, there are different areas that can be fixed with different methods. Depending on the spot, I'll tell you the cure.

I looked at the spot and its right above the top corner of the side window. Mine is a 2000 picked it up in 1999 and the wear in his top is 10 fold compared to mine. So I think there might have been some sharp edges left in the tops metal machining process.

ya, I'll be taking it to Honda for warranty and make them replace the top and look over the metal parts.
