Default S2000 in the winter?

hey guys, just recently relocated to Boston and am looking to purchase an S2000. Was wondering if someone could provide input as to how these cars drive in the snow? Cheers, Danysh.

I know they must go good in the snow as there are quite a few people in canada who drive their S year round. I think Chazmo here in Mass. also drives his in the winter. Just get a set of good snow tires.

Also welcome!

Like crap. Thats why I just put mine away for the winter. If you still want to drive it then get snow tires and some weight in the trunk. Else get a beater.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Any pointers on specific problems/issues I should look out for while shopping? Also, are there any major differences between MY2000 vs. MY2003+? Once I find the right car, looking forward to being an active member of the community.
Cheers, Danysh.

MY2000 to 2003 (known as AP1) are esentialy the same, with the 02 and 03 getting the glass rear window and some other minor upgrades like leather trimmed console and door mounted tweeters. All four years use a 2.0 litre engine with a 9k redline. The 04+ (known as AP2) have a 2.2 litre motor with a 8k redline, some additional refinement of the interior trim and updated headlights, taillights and bumpers. There is more I'm sure, but thats the gist of it.

The car is great in the snow as long as you have snow tires - i would advise against addng weight to the rear because the s2k has a 50/50 weight ratio

Things to look out for 00/01 - see if the spark plug tsb was done - the plugs could back out and destroy the motor

other than that - it's a Honda nothing really goes wrong

This is my third winter. I try to avoid going out while it's snowing, but did get caught in a storm once. Drive cautiously without harse inputs and you should do fine. As long as you have top end snows. Bridgestone Blizzaks are the snow tire of choice.

I drive mine in the winter with S03's except for if there is ANY actual snow or ice on the road, and in that case; I can't even get it out of the driveway. I don't like my car to sit for more than a week without driving. Snow tires are advised for sure.

My car is/ or will be for sale if interested. 2003 with 33K miles, all stock. I want around 18K.
