sending computer back
so I've been on the phone with dell, and I think the tech and I both agreed it was best if I just send this DAMN thing back and they can look at it...

It's *always* operator error. At least that's the attitude I had after doing desktop support for 3 years, it's amazing how jaded one can get when dealing with irritable end-users day after day. Nowadays, I'm much more understanding; I now realize only it's operator error 99% of the time.

Can you msconfig my computer?
I find it real slow on start up first thing in the AM kind of like I am.
I'd bet it's starting way too many programs, but I'm not as confortable with MSconfig as I used to be with the old Windows 98.
I'll pay you with
Rick's beer that is.
Nope, I have no problem whatsoever giving things a look-see. Just keep in mind that beer plus troubleshooting is a process in which my effectiveness diminishes fairly linearly over time. I wish it worked more like beer plus Gran Turismo, darts, or pool... where I tend to get better until I hit some ideal alcohol influence point, then things decline rapidly.

Lainey,
If you download Windows Defender you can look at all of your startup programs and disable them from there. It's a little more user frendly
. It will give you descriptions and manfacture names. So you know what you are doing.
If you have it down loaded click on tools > software explorer. It brings you right to startup programs. Good luck!
By the way I am a MCP.
