sending computer back

Nope, I have no problem whatsoever giving things a look-see. Just keep in mind that beer plus troubleshooting is a process in which my effectiveness diminishes fairly linearly over time. I wish it worked more like beer plus Gran Turismo, darts, or pool... where I tend to get better until I hit some ideal alcohol influence point, then things decline rapidly.
No beer until the job is done, the computer has been rebooted, and no funky things appear on the screen.
Kev,
Thanks for the suggestion too. If Erick demands more than beer for his services, I'll give your suggestion a try.
did you run the programs we listed???
that's a good start
do you ever click those "want free smiles" or "weather" on your pc crap?? - is your IM still enabled??
not that you look at P O R N - but that can be a real killer too
do you tend to open / exacute e-mails from people you don't know??
trust me - it's maybe a hour at most to fix your pc -

I've used macs for a long time as home computers and now I'm using them for work too now that they have the intel processors. They are fast, reliable, the software works etc. They are expensive but when you look at the quality of the product and the amount of full functional supported software that you get with it it is pretty much a no brainer these days. I run Mac OS X and Windows at the same time on it.
Scott just converted to a mac a week or so ago ... I bet you he won't go back

Yup - we purchased a Dell....had it for a week....it was a total nightmare right out of the box. Spent a lot of quality time with the Dell call center agents who are located in India - at times very difficult to understand - then decided I had had enough of the Dell. Called them and told them I was sending it back one way or the other - they tried to tell me I had to pay for shipping. After making them see the light - they paid for shipping!!! Life with Dell - Arrruuuuggghhhh! Life without Dell - delightful!!!!
Glen's Linda had problems with her Dell too!

Hey... single or not, I don't remember offering free computer repair services. Lainey graciously offered me beers and Thomas offered me a screening of the Honda Fit Best Motoring video. Those are some pretty steep prices right there, not everyone can afford them.
