Shifting problem.
I don't bench bleed it either . To Messy
First install the slave and start to bleed it as normal till you have fluid and movement. Then I remove the slave and push it in with the bleed screw open to push any trapped air out of it .Then close the bleeder and reinstall and finish bleeding it .
I have had a few cars get air trapped in the slave before .
If it were me , I would stick to the stock flywheel as it helps to have the extra inertia . The factory flywheel is not really that heavy compared to say a 350Z . OEM clutch or I have had great luck with Comp Clutch 2100 series .

Clutch Pedal Vibration: caused by:
1. Bent crankshaft
2. Bent flywheel flange
3. Flywheel not seated evenly on crankshaft flange
4. Severe misalignment between engine and transmission
5. Cover assembly not centralized on flywheel --sounds like main bearing knock
6. Clutch housing sprung by improper installation
7. Clutch release shaft arms not parallel
8. Broken or missing clutch pedal pull-back spring
.....but I don't think you've done any of these lately, so
Bleed the clutch system again!!

When they fail, clutches usually slip. they hardly ever fail in such a way that you cannot shift. The creeping forward sounds like hyrdraulics. Did you have someone push down on the clutch pedal while you observe the action of the slave?
