so i need new shocks because mine are blown. so what do i do? go on s2ki and buy a set of 2005 OEM shocks with about 30K on 'em. sale goes great.. got my shocks quick and tried to install them today... but they dont match!

so WTF did i do wrong.

how different are the shocks for an MY00 and a MY05

 

I saw that thread where you bought them, good price. I was not aware they were different either.

 

yea when i opened them up... i noticed the bottom part where the spring settles wasnt on the shock. so i thought i could remove the one from my shocks but no lock... however there was an imprint on the MY05's where that piece should go.

so can it be removed? Scott???

I have never noticed a difference other than spring rate and such ? All aftermarket fit all years . I have never tried to remove a spring perch before . I know Ground Control Setups have you cut them off sometimes . But I have never installed a set on a S2k .
