Yeah - I can't think of any reason someone would take that off

 

i didnt kno they could be taken off. i tried to see if i could swap the ones on my S and they dont seem to budge

 

If I bought used rear shocks....I'd expect the spring perch to be on there.

Those can be removed. The seller bought Konis and reused his old perch and top hat. Konis don't come with them. I don't understand why your old ones don't fit the ones you bought. Maybe your installing the front set perch to the rear shocks?
