Hello , i spoke with jake (jsenclosure) and me and a buddy were looking into getting our soft tops redone by him. If we can get atleast 4 s2000s together to get their top redone he will make the trip out here and do them in one day, Install time is roughly 2 hours each top he said with him and his buddy they have done over 150 s2000 soft top installs, Waiting on a final price for the robbins top which jake said is about $725 last time he checked and an install price of $600 ea car. Figured id post on here and see if there is any interest in getting your soft top redone without having to make the 4-6hr trip out to him depending where you are located my buddy said he would host it at his house with his garage incase it does rain which is in north smithfield , RI. Jake said the soonest he could make the trip out would be in october

Hey man glad to see you still have the S. Im surprised by the lack of interest to be honest im not sure if people just havent been checking the forum or what but figured a few people would need their soft tops replaced. As of right now its still just my buddy and I you would make the 3rd and we’d need 1 more person for jake to make the trip down personally i rather pay the extra than all the hours of traveling

 

Any idea if they would can replace a 2000 top? With glass window? Would they order the top? New to the group, but have a 2000 model and the plastic window is bad.

 

yes they can its common for the 00-01 people to change to the 02+ soft top and i believe we would have to order it

 

Robbins makes a conversion top for the 00-01 model years that includes an updated glass window and conversion straps to retrofit your soft top frame for the new glass window. This is VERY common, We've installed a couple hundred tops and not once has anyone ever replaced a 00-01 top with a plastic window, everyone goes for the glass upgrade and the newer look.

My partner is a Robbins dealer and we can get the tops direct, and we'll bring them out with us. A new stayfast fabric robbins top is $730 after tax, as of right now (i don't expect another price increase from Robbins until summer).

 

Thanks for the quick feedback, is this have a defroster or just a glass window. Just curious.

 

You can get them either way, but the most common is non-heated glass as the car is not factory equip with any of the wiring for heated rear window.
