As you know, im a photographer and I constantly seek out new ideas and visions. I ran across this earlier today and thought I would share it as it moved me. This is not for everyone but it does have a story embedded in it.

It is a series of headshots/portraits of people that had found out they have a terminal illness with small stories attached there is a potrait of them living and than deceased.

Feel free to visit and discuss your thoughts, there is nothing graphic in the images and they are done in black and white.

Totally understood its not for everyone. I normally would be exactly like you on this type of topic but im happy i explored it. the portraits were very dignified and done quite nicely. I found it very moving reading the stories. Some people were very courageous, some people were very angry.

the odd part is the tranquility in the after.
the absence of the shots of life before the knowledge of cancer makes viewing easier.

I've been fortunate. I have not had anyone in my life suffer aprolonged battle with cancer.
I've had friends and family die from it but have not had to watch a two year failing struggle with it.

B&W is still so powerful!!! I totally respect photographers who still have the vision and skill to pull of B&W. The purity of form just gets to me, but I'm sure I'm biased from my year of Pro Photo at RIT.

This is hard core, and close to home. My dad, 87, got the flue last week, it put him in the hospital, and Monday they moved him into the VA for recovery. We are all hoping he can eat enough to get some strength back so he can come home.

I have said it before, and I'm not kidding, I just can't see myself having the strength to live through this phase of my life.

Doug, I wish the best for your dad. The flu is serious when you get into those years. Heck its serious when your much younger just ask Jerry or Myself who suffered a prolonged battle with it this very winter.

dave and i will attest,
If you weren't in relatively good shape to start, this flu could easily put you in the hospital.

I have heard from several people, this year's flu was a real kicker.

Thanks guys, we have our finger's crossed Dad will bounce back. It looks good so far because he was well enough to graduate out of the hospital, but he has a long ways to go still.
