I heard that this morning. Lots of people were disappointed. We've never even watched an episode of it. Guess we won't bother renting a DVD of it now, if the end result sux.

By far, worst finale ever to be filmed and shown on TV.

I liked the episode. It was a little less crappy than the rest of the shows this year, so that was a nice surprise. I'm also happy that I can stop inviting myself to Friend's places on Sunday nights to see this since I don't own a TV yet.

I have never really followed the show, but I did watch the finale. It was AWFUL. Even worse than the finale of Seinfeld and that was BAD.

I've just come off the Sopranoland boards. Seems a lot of folks are po'd at the ending.
Spoiler if you haven't seen it stop here.

I liked it. My thoughts...
Tony was not hit at the diner, but goes on knowing that there's always a bull's eye on his back, that any stranger could be the guy with the gun. Dramatically, Tony would have had to get the hit right at the begining of the episode so we could see the outcome/ramifications. Killing him in the final scene would not have felt right to me. As it is now, he gets to tutor/mentor AJ who was subtly brough t into the business with his movie deal offer. In the fullness of time, AJ takes over, perhaps after Tony gets hit. Meadow becomes his consiglieri with the blessing of Carmela.
I was quite pleased (gruesome me!) with the demise of Phil.

Ive heard you can see more to the ending which will only be available on the DVD. $$$

I thought the endin sucked, but I was expecting it. I told a friend that Daivid CHase would reqard the loyal fans of the Sopranos with a big FU at the end.
