Problem is, you have to be. In our type of government, if you don't exercise your political will, then someone will do it for you. Sometimes you can get lucky and things are alright. But then, sometimes you get in a situation like ours where people who should not govern, are given the opportunity to, and society takes a step backwards.

Yeah, crazy as a bed bug Al Gore would have been better. Or maybe John Kerry

Some times we just don't have much to pick from and get the lesser of two evils so to speak. I think we got that this time around.

I guess your assertation that we are not wanted and that we have ruined their lives and country is a bit off.

Here is further testimony from someone in the war themselves that the war has done great things for the Iraqis. This is coming from a soldier who spends years away from his family and witnesses the result of the war first hand. Not some hippy movie star like Susan Sarandon. For reference as well, the Fall River Herald News is one of the most liberal democratic news papers in the universe...

we ruined the country - there's now a civil war because of our f ups and there is no security to speak of - Bush's new meaning of success "less violence"

there is no question - Bush and team screwed the pooch on this whole war and now they have no way out

Bah, I can't argue with you anymore on this topic. You just keep sayign the same things... "why did we invade", "civil war" "Bush Bad" blah blah blah.

We helped those people out. Accept that and be proud that you are a citizen of the country that did it. Don't be sore that it wasn't your team leading us into battle.

I for one have no problem helping "those people" out. I'd just prefer not to have been lied to about the reason(s) for doing so. Simple enough.
