I don't think there was any lie. I think some of the inteligence was maybe faulty. There are no sure things in war. We acted on the inteligence we had. Flip the coin and not act on it when there is a serious threat imminent and our people die. I'de rather err on the side of caution for this reason when dealing with rouge and terrorist regimes.

Is there a prize around here for the understatement of the day?

You work with what you have. If the weather man says a tornado is coming toward your house, do you wait to see if he's right, or get out of Dodge?

Hey I wanted to tell you that I actually found someone who puts the new hypodermic needle laws to good use. If you remember, I was saying how most junkies still use the same needles and making them legal is a bad idea. Well, the other night I got a call for a girl overdosing... She was all but dead when I got there. So, we bring her back around, and start asking her some questions, she is VERY upset that we ruined her high, and not too concerned with the fact that she was basicly dead a minute earlier. BUT, she did show me her bag of new clean needles since she knows they aren't illegal anymore. So, she is using clean needles as the law is designed.

Problem is, she and her junkie boyfriend now have about fifty un capped used needles lying around their apartment containing all of their wonderful diseases. I almost kneeled on a few while doing CPR on her and then almost stepped on a few more. I wish to say thank you to our frineds on Beacon Hill for making life safer for junkies and tougher for cops and EMTs who have to save them when they get a few bad bags of heroin. Last thing I need is to bring some disease home to the wife and kids

you don't get paid enought to deal with that crap -

BUT as i said - maybe just maybe the people who do those bad drugs and can still afford clean needles will use them and maybe just a slight maybe you'll have a tiny bit less of a chance to come across an infected needle

do you think that even if the needles were against the law they would have had less of those things on the floor OR they would simply continue to use a used needle

how can anyone even think of doing that to themselves is beyond me

Seeing that, I have no doubt that it may in fact cut down on junkies spreading disease to each other. I just think that an unfortunate cost of that is an abundance of used needles that end up in bad places like gutters, sidewalks, sticking out of trash bags on trash pick up day and under my knee

Oh well, not much I can do about it! By the way, that night I spoke about would have been the perfect night for you to be with me. It was hopping. Then, this friday we had yet another murder. Guess you just brought a slow day with you. Hmmmm, maybe you should ride with me more
