My neck stiffened up on me the other night. Starts in my shoulders and works up to the base of my head. I can feel that the muscles are all tight. I figured it would go away, but it has been almost two whole days. I tried a hot shower and I just got back from Walmart with a new heating pad and a can of icy hot.

If this doesn;t work, what else should I try?

In the same boat Jeff with a stiff neck from my shoulder up my neck on the left side.

Ive been keeping heat on it for a couple days and hit it up with muscle relaxers last 2 days. Is much better today but I am sticking with the heat until its gone.

 

I'm serious! NB, and no happy ending massage offered either. Stay out of Providence!

You know, the massage lady I go to when my neck acts up, much prefers ice than heat, for a chronic ache.

I get better relief when I ice my neck/shoulder even though the heat feels better when applied.
