Default a strike against authoritarian discipline

teenage drinking party.

it seems the school superintendent suspended several student athletes after seeing photos of them drinking from red cups.
he "naturally" assumed it was beer and suspended the students.
so one of the 18 year old students got a 1/4 keg and had his party.
root beer that is.
police raided the party, 90 students got Breathalyzers. no alcohol.
lot's of red cups though.

the superintendent has been unavailable for comment.

This particular case is very funny.

But, I fail to see why trying to keep underage kids from drinking is labeled as some type of evil plot against kids rights to drink alcohol.

In my neighborhood growing up there were about 6 of us that used to hang out all the time. Over the years three of them got killed in separate underage drinking incidents. Another classmate ofmine in highschool drank to much and asperated overnight, and was found dead in the morning by his mother.

Being a parent myself, I hope if my biys go to college that the school does everything they can to try to keep my kids safe. Even if it means making an incorrect assumption from time to time.
