swap done. ap2 in a ap1
heres the story. my ap1 motor was going out. cylinder 1 compression was at 120psi while the cylinder 2, 3, and 4 was at 230psi. so i didnt want to rebuild so i bought a ap2 long block on craigslist for 800 at 26,000 miles on a clean car fax too. it was originally 1500[B]. the price dropped because of some head problems.
after long hours me and my buddies finally got it in. my new set up is ap2 long block with ap1 cams (intake and exhaust). ap1 ecu, ACT street disc (love the grab)
my reaction was, i was really impressed with the new motor. a tiny bit more torque and much broader then the ap1 power band. i was always on the ap1 side but now i am leaning towards the ap2s (motor wise). im happy with the swap except for me breaking the knock sensor!
after that is replaced, hope everything runs 100% ap2 FTW
time to sleep now!
