Also I would never ever bring my car to town fair tire. Long story short, one of their "techs" took my evo for a joy ride while I was in the waiting room. I saw him going down the street boosting like crazy and when he got back my car smelt like burnt clutch. I yelled at the manager for 15 minutes until he threatened to call the cops because I told every customer to turn around and walk out. I sued them for 2k for a new clutch and (I am a lawyer so I obviously) won.

I got my set of star specs last summer (oem sizes) for about $440 shipped. 17's will probably run you a bit more money though

Mike.

Marty,

Many folks with the AP1 model felt lucky to get 10K out of the rears. The AP2 is a bit better, and it depends on what you buy. Rick's never been one to but the car still eats tires pretty quickly compared to other vehicles. We now have 64K on the S and just replaced all four again....

I got my Hankook Ventus V12 EVO K110's for $556 through Discount Tire Direct in sizes 225/45-17 and 255/40-17 and received a $40 pre-paid VISA card in return. I'm not sure on the mileage they'll get as I just put them on. As I said before, though the star specs are a great tire they are heavily underused in daily driving. For the specs my tires are in a set of SS would run over $700.

I'm buying 4 new tires next week. Good reading this thread. The Hankooks are a high possibility.
I have to save a few bucks because I just put $700 into a new front bumper
