Default Tire situation

So...hit a pothole and damaged the driver front tire. wheel looks ok. tire guy says you need a new one....I agree with him. I can peel open a 1 inch section of the sidewall and see the sidewall belts.

Replacement tire...Bridgestone Turanza ER33....10k miles on it. $259....I probably should replace in pairs....so perhaps $520....but lets say I'll just get one.

or

A whole new set of Sumitomo HTR Z III....for $608 installed. better tread wear, dedicated summer tire, much higher ratings for traction, noise etc.

I can sell the Bridgeston rears with 55% remaining for $100....so net $508.

I think it is a no brainer, but....it is still an additional $140 out of pocket.

Well you have dedicated winters, as long as you think the performance of the sumi's are up to par than no brainer. but if they are not that is a whole different story.
