Post Touching up and fixing paint chips.....

Hi all,

Just like any other cars, if you drive your cars, you probably have some paint chips or even scratches.

You can touch them up all day long, but to make the repair perfect (or close to it), you will need touch up, wet sand, polish and wax...etc.

I think I did it once with the S. It did not come out very good. Yes the chip was filled with touch up paint, but I can still see the chip the paint surface is still lower than the paint surface around it (maybe not enough paint?).

Anyway, does anyone has repair paint chips with the wet sanding method and come out nicely?

Please feel free to share your experience here.

I bookmarked this some time ago. I've never used the stuff, but am curious if anyone has.

There is a method of using touchup paint and then a clay bar about 18hrs later to take off the high spot. the results looked very good, but I have never tried it.

touchup123 seems easy enough, but it is kind of boring to do it alone.

We should have paint chips repair meet.

For some reason, I have completely lost my desire to detail the car after I sold the S. I need a push to do it. Like hanging out, chating with friends and cracking jokes along the way....etc.

Even for fixing the paint chips, I don't feel motivated at all. In the old days, I would be jumping up and down when I saw a paint chip and I would not rest until it was fixed.

I probably will buy the touchup123 kit. If anyone are doing this also and want to swing by my place (my garage can hold two cars), please let me know.

Any idea how much this costs in general? I have a plethora of paint chips that need addressing.
