Default "Touchless" Wheel Mounting Equipment

I talked with Jim @ Tire Rack about concerns that a shop would scratch my wheels when they mount my new rear S-02's. Jim pointed me to Long Distance Tire in Medway, MA saying they have the same Hunter 3500 equipment that Tire Rack uses.

They also have their wheel balancer I think.

I've got an appointment for this Sat. has anyone had experience with Long Distance Tire?

Nope, but please share the experience. It never hurts to have another option.

Sorry, my plan to have these installed at Long Distance Tire today didn't go as planned. So no feedback to give on how the wheels made out.

Seems Boch Collision can't get enough of my car. They've now had it 2 full weeks just to fill-in and blend paint the front and back bumpers. As of Friday they hadn't even started painting it yet.

Looks like I'll be driven the pimp-mobile ('05 caddy DeVille) for a few more days. There's just something about that car. It keeps wanting to swerve in to Denny's for the early-bird special whenever I go by one. And when I drive by street corners in South Providence at night all the girls standing on the corner yell and wave at me. What a friendly part of town.

I'm resetting the wheel install for this coming weekend instead. More later.

Too funny Doug. Yeah, maybe you should get a caddy as a daily driver Steve
Let us know how it went Doug. Hope everything goes well with the S and you get it back as good as new. The Hooters girls need a nice smooth surface to sit on

UPDATE

I finally got to Long Distance Tire. They did a great job on my rear wheels last Saturday am.

Mounting & Balancing - No wheel dings. Great service .. made an appointment for 10:00 and when I showed up at exactly 10:00 they took me right in and I was out in about 15-20 minutes.

Facility - Took a walk to the Dunkin Donuts next door for some coffee and by the time I got back they were almost done. Their waiting room looks like a normal living room. Kind of took me by surprise.

Price - $31 / wheel mounting, balancing, new stems and disposal

It worked out so well I just order a replacement set of front S-02's from Tire Rack and I'm having them shipped there again. I'm going back for a install this coming Saturday am.
